My diary entry.
October. 24th, 2013
Dear Diary,
I can’t wait telling you what has happened today… something significant. That was, I managed to find my birthplace. Quite something, right? Since finding out more about my own story was of leading importance in my life, absolutely.
I can still clearly recall that moment when I was only steps away from the house which the old lady had directed me to, and in other words, that poor and old-fashioned house which showed up in front of me at that time was exactly the place where I had been born.
I couldn’t tell you how nervous I was. Although I tried hard to pull myself together, my stomach flip-flopped violently and my heart hammered heavily in my chest. I couldn’t believe that I was so close to my destination which had popped up in different appearances for hundreds of times in my dreams, and such dreams seemed to come up to me more and more frequently as time passed by, especially these days. I believed they were implicitly showing something, however, I failed to figure out the exact meaning until that moment.
Standing meters away from my birthplace, I was suddenly enlightened. In fact, not only had I been concerning about my birth parents as well as the reasons why they had abandoned me; but also I had been considering about something deeper and more thoughtful subconsciously, which was my root---my Chinese root that tied my heart tightly with the wide stretch of land, the profound and extensive civilization, the rich and great traditional culture.
My heartbeat sped up, and the blood running in my body was like boiling. I had never been so excited before, because I realized that the blood my heart had been pumping for years is Chinese. And whether I liked it or not, I am one of the descents of the Yellow Emperor---I am Chinese.
I felt that today was the longest day in my life, and I understood so many things that I had never come up with answers before. And actually since I was too overwhelmed by my emotion today and running out of time also, I decided to call it a day. I hope everything is gonna be well sorted out tomorrow. J
Night!
Shirley.
